Spectators: 7251 (Terracing: 5440, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leopoldo Diniz took the kick off in the first half of the match. Reynaldo Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas do Valle in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute Henrique Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, São Bento's goal looked a bit too open when Oséas do Valle came free, but Reynaldo Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 13 minutes, Oséas do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Batatuba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséas do Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrique Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Oséas do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes of play, Batatuba's Henrique Vinhas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Sá was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Henrique Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynaldo Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Vinhas in the 27th minute of play. With an all-out effort, São Bento's Albertino Proença threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leopoldo Diniz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Henrique Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathias Cavalcante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Sá read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Reynaldo Sá came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Batatuba's Oséas do Valle. But to his dismay, Oséas do Valle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The São Bento players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Batatuba were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oséas do Valle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jaime das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Proença having to interfere. 56 minutes into the game, Batatuba's Oséas do Valle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Sá made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. When José Paulo Pinheiro fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São Bento's protests and gave José Paulo Pinheiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd minute, José Paulo Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 65 in the game by Henrique Vinhas from a close distance when the talented Reynaldo Sá managed to make a qualified save. São Bento's players were relieved. Sérgio Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sérgio Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes São Bento got a freekick which was hit by Jaime das Neves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas do Valle in the 76th minute of play forced São Bento's goalkeeper Reynaldo Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséas do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. If Henrique Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 84 minutes, Jaime das Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Bento and the Batatuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to São Bento getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jaime das Neves hit a great ball. After 86 played minutes, Batatuba's Kauan Miranda shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reynaldo Sá came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Batatuba reached it. If Henrique Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynaldo Sá made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Henrique Vinhas sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giuseppe Figueiredo during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Henrique Vinhas placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When the match was over Batatuba could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than São Bento throughout the match.
