One of HotWells:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Arnoresco FC:s goal. Umberto Carneiro had in the 19thth minute some difficulties stopping Ernani Seco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The HotWells fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when HotWells's Dadá Marques looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With an all-out effort, Arnoresco FC's Umberto Carneiro threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Fernando Nóbrega, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
