Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Edmundo Valadares kicked off to start the match. A collision led to Gerais getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Enrique Chaves hit a great ball. When Nelson Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Cravaio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson Sampaio couldn't finish the play. Gerais's Hernani Vergílio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Gerais from getting a goal against them. Nelson Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Valadares in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davi Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Sampaio in the 20th minute of play forced Gerais's goalkeeper Hernani Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Iuri de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davi Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Valadares in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Davi Tande saved Cravaio from getting behind. Edmundo Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Valadares in the 40th minute of play forced Cravaio's goalkeeper Davi Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Cravaio defense, Edmundo Valadares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Davi Tande. The Cravaio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Davi Tande should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Cravaio's Tarcisio Lucas got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half Gerais were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Nelson Sampaio made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Iuri de Souza fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Davi Tande, passed just outside the right post. In the 53rd minute, Gerais's Edmundo Valadares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the 56th minute, Josué Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 57 played minutes, Cravaio's Rubens Cunha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hernani Vergílio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cravaio reached it. Iuri de Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Davi Tande made a huge save. Alfredão Ribeiro hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Iuri de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davi Tande having to interfere. 84 minutes into the game, Edmundo Valadares recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Davi Tande. Edmundo Valadares showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Davi Tande made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iuri de Souza in the 89th minute. If Edmundo Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Gerais could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cravaio throughout the match.
