Walmyr Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atacadao. Atacadao's Fabinho Fantini got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walmyr Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clóvis Mesquita in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rdth minute of the game Clóvis Mesquita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MDS Futebol Clube's Walmyr Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atacadao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! The referee gave MDS Futebol Clube a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aníbal Penha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atacadao's Dário Sabóia. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in MDS Futebol Clube's zone, Fabinho Fantini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmyr Lima came out of the goal and Fabinho Fantini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademir Cavalcante took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dário Sabóia. Dário Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabinho Fantini made a kick off. Dário Sabóia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ademir Cavalcante in the 54th minute. Fabinho Fantini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in MDS Futebol Clube's zone, Robinho Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmyr Lima came out of the goal and Robinho Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademir Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Sabóia having to interfere. Vágner Hermes's late challenge caught a Atacadao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vágner Hermes helped the player get up and apologised. Vágner Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. MDS Futebol Clube's Walmyr Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Fantini in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Dinei Simão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MDS Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atacadao the free kick. A collision led to Atacadao getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Adilson das Neves hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, João Vítor Gonçalves fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dário Sabóia, passed just outside the right post. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Ademir Cavalcante got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Atacadao's Dário Sabóia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Atacadao from getting a goal against them.
