The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hermínio Carneiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Martins in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermínio Carneiro saved SOCIAL DEMOCRACIA FR. from getting behind. Jonathan Martins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermínio Carneiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SOCIAL DEMOCRACIA FR.'s Telmo Almeida got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Jonathan Martins came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Uberlândia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Martins couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute Jonathan Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Hermínio Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Félixs short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Hermínio Carneiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Caetano Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermínio Carneiro was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Jan Tomaszewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doni Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonathan Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to SOCIAL DEMOCRACIA FR. getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Wilton Santos hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Uberlândia EC's Leandro Castan tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. SOCIAL DEMOCRACIA FR.'s Hermínio Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Martins in the 57th minute of play. Jonathan Martins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermínio Carneiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Doni Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Tomaszewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Telmo Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. If Reynaldo Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uberlândia EC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
