Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when José Maria Lopes took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Maria Lopes in the 3rd minute of play forced Anuan AD's goalkeeper Régis Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Papanduva booed when Anuan AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anuan AD's Régis Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Lopes in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Anuan AD's goalkeeper Régis Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Anuan AD getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Nicolas Sampaio hit a great ball. When Belmiro Vander came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Anuan AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmiro Vander couldn't finish the play. Chicão de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 played minutes Papanduva got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio de Brito. José Maria Lopes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Régis Mattos came out and tried to block the shot, but José Maria Lopes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 29th minute. Lauro Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Régis Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute José Maria Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Maria Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Papanduva's Lauro Guedes got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 51st minute, José Maria Lopes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Papanduva's Chicão de Alcântara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Papanduva from getting a goal against them. After 55 played minutes Anuan AD got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Barreto. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Anuan AD's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Lopes came free, but Régis Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Ribeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Ribeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With his leg Chicão de Alcântara managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Anuan AD's Belmiro Vander fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 72 minutes into the game, Lauro Guedes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Régis Mattos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Anuan AD's zone, José Maria Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Régis Mattos came out of the goal and José Maria Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Nicolas Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Anuan AD's goalkeeper Régis Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
