Raphael Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Velasco in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th match minute, Corrente EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. If Eurico Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Lucas in the 14th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manoel Meireles got free with Clóvis Arce in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute, Charles Matorin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Clóvis Arce made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Manoel Meireles sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Manoel Meireles got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Manoel Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deivid da Cunha's late challenge caught a Esteira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Deivid da Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, Corrente EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Esteira's Jânio Simão tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Eurico Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Manoel Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the game, Manoel Meireles lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Clóvis Arce. Manoel Meireles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Clóvis Arce when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arthur Lucas to make the kick off. Esteira were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Corrente EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jânio Simão took the corner. Corrente EC's Manoel Meireles got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clóvis Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Matorin in the 66th minute of play. Eurico Velasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raphael Viana having to make a save. After having played for 73 minutes, Arthur Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esteira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arthur Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eurico Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Esteira's zone, Charles Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clóvis Arce came out of the goal and Charles Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clóvis Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manoel Meireles's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Charles Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charles Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Clóvis Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteira's Giuseppe Hoffmann got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Giuseppe Hoffmann off the ground. A collision led to Esteira getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Giuseppe Hoffmann hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Corrente EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Esteira had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
