Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, PontoDaCópia's goal looked a bit too open when João Paulo Pombal came free, but Umberto Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, PontoDaCópia's Frank Salgado got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute, Silvério Batista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Umberto Alves was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rubinho Barreto to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Umberto Alves managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Crescencio SC's João Paulo Pombal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Crescencio SC's João Paulo Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvério Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Umberto Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Crescencio SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
