Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zé Soares took the kick off in the first half of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Zé Soares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Diguinho Fantini, 1-0. 17 minutes into the game, Ypiranga's Wiliam Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diguinho Fantini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. A hard shot 21 in the game by Zé Soares from a close distance when the talented Diguinho Fantini managed to make a qualified save. Esmeril EC's players were relieved. Zé Soares did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Diguinho Fantini 21 minutes into the match. Zé Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diguinho Fantini having to interfere. If Wiliam Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wiliam Machado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Diguinho Fantini made a huge save. In the 36th match minute, Esmeril EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. Afonsinho Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir Donato in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Valle in the 40th minute of play forced Ypiranga's goalkeeper Afonsinho Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deivid Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Wiliam Machado took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diguinho Fantini. Diguinho Fantini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cléberson Santana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ypiranga's Victor Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vivaldo Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Diguinho Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonsinho Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Santana in the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Santana in the 58th minute of play forced Ypiranga's goalkeeper Afonsinho Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiliam Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wiliam Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nilmar Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esmeril EC's protests and gave Nilmar Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, Esmeril EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilmar Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Afonsinho Batista made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Frederico Valle sent off a good shot on target. Zé Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Esmeril EC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Waldir Donato hit a great ball. Afonsinho Batista made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Frederico Valle sent off a good shot on target. Afonsinho Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Santana in the 75th minute of play. When Nilmar Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Esmeril EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilmar Miranda couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Esmeril EC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Duda Miranda hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Wiliam Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonsinho Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico Valle in the 89th minute. After 91 played minutes Ypiranga got a freekick which was hit by Victor Senna. Antônio Carlos Novaes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Afonsinho Batista. Ypiranga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ypiranga's zone, Waldir Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonsinho Batista came out of the goal and Waldir Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute of the match, Cléberson Santana tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Afonsinho Batista saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ypiranga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
