An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Guerra in the 14th minute of play forced Ypiranga's goalkeeper Afonsinho Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Ypiranga's Wiliam Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lenílson Mandrak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute Wiliam Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenílson Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Zé Soares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ypiranga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 31st match minute, Ypiranga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanni Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Zé Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson Mandrak having to interfere. Lenílson Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vivaldo Zanette in the 37th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Zé Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Lenílson Mandrak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 44 played minutes Ypiranga got a freekick which was hit by Victor Senna. Thanks to some nice moves 邵康烽 could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Afonsinho Batista however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Ypiranga getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Sílvio de Toledo hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute of the match Ypiranga got a corner. Folha's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geovanni Ortiz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ypiranga's Geovanni Ortiz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lenílson Mandrak in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ypiranga's Afonsinho Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 邵康烽 in the 59th minute of play. Zé Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lenílson Mandrak made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Wiliam Machado sent off a good shot on target. 邵康烽 hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Folha's zone, Wiliam Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lenílson Mandrak came out of the goal and Wiliam Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Zé Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ypiranga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lenílson Mandrak having to make a save. In the 78th minute 邵康烽 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wiliam Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lenílson Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Zanette in the 94th minute of play. Zé Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson Mandrak having to interfere.
