After 6 played minutes Legend F.C got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Favoretto. The long shot by Valdir Bueno in the 7th minute really tested Ernesto Queirós's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ernesto Queirós acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Teodoro Favoretto. Ronaldo Sergipano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ernesto Queirós firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ronaldo Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tostão Favoretto hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Nictheroy's Álvaro Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho da Fonseca in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Nictheroy's Haroldo Sampaio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernesto Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Duarte Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute of the match, Haroldo Sampaio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ernesto Queirós saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Nictheroy's Haroldo Sampaio in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Legend F.C's goalie prevented a goal. Ronaldo Sergipanos short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Ernesto Queirós to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Haroldo Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Ernesto Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nictheroy. Nictheroy's Haroldo Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Haroldo Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Tostão Favoretto's late challenge caught a Nictheroy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tostão Favoretto helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes Legend F.C got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Favoretto. Valdir Bueno took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernesto Queirós. Legend F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Legend F.C getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Tostão Favoretto hit a great ball. Haroldo Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernesto Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. When Haroldo Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Nictheroy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Sampaio couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute Haroldo Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Sampaio in the 71st minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Gláuber Negri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Legend F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nictheroy the free kick. In the 79th minute, Ronaldo Sergipano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Nictheroy's Fiori Marquez got a free kick in the 80th minute. After 83 minutes of play, Nictheroy's Haroldo Sampaio made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! 89 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Sergipano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Ernesto Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute of the match Rafinha Lago shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto Queirós showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Nictheroy had played much better football throughout.
