The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Coritiba FC's Hélder Cunha got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The Coritiba FC fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Coritiba FC's Adolfo Cavalcante looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 27th match minute, Coritiba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Dantas to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute, Muriti's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hélder Cunha fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Cavalcante got free with Régis Vander in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Adolfo Cavalcante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Régis Vander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. When Luís Guilherme Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Coritiba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Guilherme Paraibano couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Muriti getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Tiago Trevisan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Muriti's Otávio Batista got a free kick in the 58th minute. Hélder Cunha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Régis Vander having to make a save. Adolfo Cavalcante succeeded in the game's 62nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. A collision led to Coritiba FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Claudinho Dantas hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Adolfo Cavalcante sped through Muriti's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Régis Vander. Muriti's Régis Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Cavalcante in the 77th minute of play. Moisés Dante charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moisés Dante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hélder Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Muriti's Régis Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Cavalcante in the 86th minute of play. Régis Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Cavalcante in the 92nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adolfo Cavalcante in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Régis Vander saved Muriti from getting behind. Luís Guilherme Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis Vander having to interfere. Coritiba FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
