Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Chapeterror's William Abraão started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Xavier's zone, William Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmyr Mendonça came out of the goal and William Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clemente Monteiro hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Júlio Borges hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Xavier's zone, William Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmyr Mendonça came out of the goal and William Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Paulo José Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Chapeterror fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo José Pereira couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Marcus Trevisan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xavier's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Trevisan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélder Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hélder Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. William Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 30 minutes, Jairo Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapeterror's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Abraão in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmyr Mendonça saved Xavier from getting behind. After 34 played minutes Chapeterror got a freekick which was hit by Matías Barral. Marcus Trevisan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hélder Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elivélton Vianna struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Hélder Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xavier. When Chapeterror's William Abraão in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Xavier's goalie prevented a goal. Beto Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Mendonça having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Trevisan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Beto Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Walmyr Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xavier's goalkeeper couldn't reach when William Abraão 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. After 68 played minutes Xavier got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Linares. William Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Mendonça having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, Xavier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Travassos to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the match, Chapeterror's goal looked a bit too open when Elivélton Vianna came free, but Hélder Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélder Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Trevisan in the 80th minute of the match. Xavier's Walmyr Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Xavier from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Júlio Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Xavier getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Elivélton Vianna hit a great ball. In the 87th minute William Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmyr Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Chapeterror booed when Xavier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Abraão in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmyr Mendonça saved Xavier from getting behind. Joaquim Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Chapeterror played a much better game than Xavier and deserved their victory. The Xavier players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
