After 16 played minutes Sydney de Lara rounded Morotim's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Joélson Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Morotim got a corner. Xixebal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Franklin Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Morotim's Franklin Medeiros to fire away a dangerous shot which Joélson Antunes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Almir Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Morotim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Almir Velasco couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Xixebal's Renan Madureira got a free kick in the 29th minute. Almir Velasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joélson Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Joélson Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Travassos in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Almir Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morotim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Almir Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joélson Antunes came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Morotim's Gil Travassos. But to his dismay, Gil Travassos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 47 minutes of play, Morotim's Gil Travassos made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joélson Antunes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jorginho Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Gil Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, Franklin Medeiros sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Xixebal's Joélson Antunes didn't even have to move. Sydney de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Leopoldo Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Sydney de Lara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Lara was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a rather tough play, Xixebal's Emanuel Velasco got a free kick in the 74th minute. After 75 minutes, Gil Travassos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morotim and the Xixebal players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Morotim getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gil Travassos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Travassos in the 79th minute of play forced Xixebal's goalkeeper Joélson Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Xixebal's goalkeeper Joélson Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Almir Velasco. Almir Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
