When Almir Velasco fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morotim's protests and gave Almir Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Morotim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Velasco to maneuver through the defense. Morotim's Leopoldo Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Toscano in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Geovani Xavier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leopoldo Lara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the game, Geovani Xavier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wlabio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morotim the free kick. After a rather tough play, Wlabio's Geovani Xavier got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of Wlabio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Morotim:s goal. Leopoldo Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Toscano's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Wlabio's goalkeeper Belmiro Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Almir Velasco. Thanks to some nice moves Almir Velasco could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Belmiro Batista however easily saved by the left post. Jorginho Castro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Belmiro Batista came out and tried to block the shot, but Jorginho Castro slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gil Travassos to strike the kick off in the second half. Ian Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Lara having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Wlabio's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Travassos came free, but Belmiro Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belmiro Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Travassos in the 58th minute of play. When Vladimir Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geovani Xavier hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Belmiro Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Almir Velasco in the 66th minute of play. When Anselmo Toscano came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Wlabio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Toscano couldn't finish the play. In the 68th minute, Ian Ribeiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leopoldo Lara. The goal made the score 2-3. Ian Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Leopoldo Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonsinho Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Leopoldo Lara made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Ian Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wlabio's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 played minutes Morotim got a freekick which was hit by Jorginho Castro. The supporters of Wlabio booed when Morotim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Wlabio could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Morotim throughout the match.
