Paulo José Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Leal having to interfere. If Ruy Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafinha Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute of the match, Tibúrcio Loyola tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Massa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alfredinho Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. S. C. CORINTHIANS P.'s Adilson Pena got a free kick in the 59th minute. Adilson Pena charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adilson Pena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. CORINTHIANS P.'s Jonathan Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredinho Xavier in the 65th minute of play.
