Rubens Seco came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Olavo Galvão could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubens Seco got free with Olavo Galvão in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Belmiro Carneiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavo Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Vitoria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Flavinho Dias came free, but Sebastião Peres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Alexandre Paes made the kick off in the second half. Flavinho Dias scored 0-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastião Peres, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Almir Britto hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 56 minutes, Belmiro Carneiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beto Cabral in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião Peres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Vitoria FC's zone, Beto Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Peres came out of the goal and Beto Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 74 played minutes ØŁ¥ΜƤƗĆ V€Ł€ƗŘØŞ ĐΔ ƗŁĦΔ got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Coelho. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Almir Britto during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to ØŁ¥ΜƤƗĆ V€Ł€ƗŘØŞ ĐΔ ƗŁĦΔ getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Almir Britto hit a great ball. In the 78th minute Alexandre Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Vitoria FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Peres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavinho Dias. Olavo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubens Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Vitoria FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rubens Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ØŁ¥ΜƤƗĆ V€Ł€ƗŘØŞ ĐΔ ƗŁĦΔ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ØŁ¥ΜƤƗĆ V€Ł€ƗŘØŞ ĐΔ ƗŁĦΔ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
