In the 10th minute, Cássio Araújo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nelson Campidelis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Carlos Alberto Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelson Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Roldanillo Gonzales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Nelson Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Dagoberto Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 吕适超 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes CD Catalunya got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar do Nascimento. After a defensive mix-up in CD Catalunya's zone, Roldanillo Gonzales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelson Campidelis came out of the goal and Roldanillo Gonzales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Valinhos FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cássio Araújo to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes CD Catalunya got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Negri. Roldanillo Gonzales scored 0-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nelson Campidelis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th match minute, CD Catalunya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Linares to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, CD Catalunya's goalkeeper Nelson Campidelis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Araújo. Valinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dagoberto Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Cássio Araújo in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nelson Campidelis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 85 minutes into the match, Valinhos FC's Roldanillo Gonzales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nelson Campidelis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 吕适超 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Nelson Campidelis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valinhos FC. The CD Catalunya fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Valinhos FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
