An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias Carneiro in the 28th minute of play forced Real Capixaba's goalkeeper Sydney Zilles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Real Capixaba's Alfredinho Jacinto got a free kick in the 37th minute. After 41 played minutes Real Capixaba got a freekick which was hit by Válter da Rocha. Sydney Zilles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Real Capixaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angelo Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Pilokudos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Damião came free, but Frank Mandrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Válter da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Capixaba's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when João Pena scored to the left of an out of position Sydney Zilles, making the score, 2-1. Real Capixaba's Sydney Zilles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pena in the 94th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pilokudos FC's zone, Berth Amanuensis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Mandrak came out of the goal and Berth Amanuensis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pilokudos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
