Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Guaianas SC's Hamílton Pires started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dariusz Terasek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Dias having to interfere. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Reds F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Meirelles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eugênio Campidelis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Walmyr Dias when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Walmyr Dias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugênio Campidelis in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamílton Pires in the 13th minute of play forced Reds F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmyr Dias made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Eugênio Campidelis sent off a good shot on target. Marcos Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugênio Campidelis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugênio Campidelis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Walmyr Dias when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 32nd minute Hamílton Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Reds F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Régis Trigo was slow to take the kick. During this time Guaianas SC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Guaianas SC's Régis Trigo to fire away a dangerous shot which Luiz Meirelles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Guaianas SC's Vladimir Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcos Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hamílton Pires might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Meirelles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamílton Pires ran back to his position shaking his head.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugênio Campidelis made a kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Guaianas SC's Marcos Nogueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Erik Pernambucano hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Reds F.C.'s zone, Hamílton Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Meirelles came out of the goal and Hamílton Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walmyr Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dariusz Terasek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamílton Pires in the 83rd minute of play forced Reds F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Eugênio Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reds F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Eugênio Campidelis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Davi Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
