Amauri de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Cruz Azul's Luís Fabiano Silva got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Luís Fabiano Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Acácio de Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amauri de Azevedo. Deportivo Cruz Azul's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edinho Paulista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Loureiro in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Deportivo Cruz Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Batista came free, but Amauri de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dalmo Lago hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Amauri de Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Batista in the 31st minute of the match. Edinho Paulista came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Cruz Azul's Wilian Fantini. But to his dismay, Wilian Fantini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 39th minute, Dalmo Lago reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edinho Paulista. The goal made the score 3-0. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Edinho Paulista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st minute, Pedro Luiz Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edinho Paulista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raphael Azevedo went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 56 minutes into the game, Alfredo Moura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leicester Pirituba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Cruz Azul the free kick. The supporters of Deportivo Cruz Azul booed when Leicester Pirituba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmo Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Acácio de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Cruz Azul's goalkeeper Amauri de Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Amauri de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Deportivo Cruz Azul getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Silva hit a great ball. A throw-in in the 76th minute of the game was made by Virgílio Melo with Raphael Azevedo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After having played for 82 minutes, Célio Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Cruz Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Célio Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Deportivo Cruz Azul getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Dalmo Lago hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luizão Batista in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amauri de Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 91 minutes into the match, Leicester Pirituba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmo Lago came free, but Edinho Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Claudinho Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Leicester Pirituba FC's zone, Tiago Gabriel Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edinho Paulista came out of the goal and Tiago Gabriel Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
