Spectators: 7206 (Terracing: 5406, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) Espinhal's Gino Luz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Polinopolis FC's Jano Valle got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 5 played minutes Espinhal got a freekick which was hit by Victor Amaral. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jano Valle in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conrado de Amorim saved Espinhal from getting behind. José Sampaio came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Conrado de Amorim could save by the left post. In the 13th minute, Tião Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15thth minute of the game Gino Luz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Polinopolis FC's Glauco Marquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When José Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Polinopolis FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Sampaio couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the game, Clóvis Diniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polinopolis FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espinhal the free kick. In the 21st minute, Clóvis Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Espinhal's Acácio de Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Glauco Marquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 32 minutes of play, Espinhal's Gino Luz made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glauco Marquez was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Polinopolis FC's goalkeeper Glauco Marquez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Conrado de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Sampaio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Conrado de Amorim made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jano Valle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Espinhal got a freekick which was hit by William Lago. Espinhal's Conrado de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jano Valle in the 55th minute of play. After 59 minutes, William Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Espinhal and the Polinopolis FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Espinhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Lago to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes Polinopolis FC got a freekick which was hit by Jano Valle. After a rather tough play, Polinopolis FC's Clóvis Diniz got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Glauco Marquez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Acácio de Carvalho in the 64th minute. Gino Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Acácio de Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Glauco Marquez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Acácio de Carvalho ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Luz in the 69th minute of play forced Polinopolis FC's goalkeeper Glauco Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Acácio de Carvalho in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Conrado de Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
