Miguel Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitório de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Miguel Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from António Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vicente Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paulo de Lima in the 11th minute of the match. Pedro Paulo de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Bastos having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Pedro Paulo de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th match minute, GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Santana to maneuver through the defense. After 18 played minutes Mororo got a freekick which was hit by Tarcisio Leão. António Lopes scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Sarmento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the game, Mororo's Vitório de Medeiros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Miguel Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Vicente Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paulo de Lima in the 37th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Goiano during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC! In the 46th minute, Vitório de Medeiros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Sarmento was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After the first half Mororo were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vitório de Medeiros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 67th minute, Pedro Paulo de Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC defense, Vitório de Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Sarmento. The GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Sarmento should have stopped the shot. In the 72nd minute, Pedro Paulo de Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC's Pedro Paulo de Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Sarmento was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vitório de Medeiros showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 76 minute of play. Vitório de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Miguel Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitório de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Sarmento having to interfere. 85 minutes in the game, Vitório de Medeiros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Miguel Sarmento having to interfere. Miguel Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vitório de Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Osvaldinho Nóbrega blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miguel Sarmento having to make a save. Vitório de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Miguel Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mororo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
