Miguel Sarmento was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO FARRAPO FC's Pedro Paulo de Lima got a free kick in the 18th minute. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Vitório de Medeiros took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Miguel Sarmento to make any attempt to save it. Mororo were furious when Luiz Gustavo Peixoto was red carded, 62 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 61 minutes into the game, one of Mororo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vicente Bastos had in the 64thth minute some difficulties stopping João Pedro Braga's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fernando Esteves during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
