Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Claudinei dos Santos made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Benjamin Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laranjeira SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Sergipano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Mazza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 6 minutes into the game, one of Valdelandia EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Laranjeira SS a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Coelho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Valdelandia EC's Chicão Mazza. 0-1. A hard shot by Edgar Quadros from long distance, 15 minutes into the match, got Raí Borges's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. César Toscano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raí Borges having to make a save. In the 22nd minute, one of Valdelandia EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Valdelandia EC. Bebeto Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Mazza having to interfere. Valdelandia EC's Chicão Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Sergipano in the 32nd minute of play. Laranjeira SS's Bebeto Tande got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Benjamin Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Tande in the 47th minute of play forced Valdelandia EC's goalkeeper Chicão Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benjamin Sergipano was the one to do the kick off. Benjamin Sergipano might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chicão Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamin Sergipano ran back to his position shaking his head. When Benjamin Sergipano got free in front of the goal in the 53rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Chicão Mazza was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinei dos Santos during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Valdelandia EC's Claudinei dos Santos got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 64th minute César Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raí Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinei dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudinei dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí Borges having to interfere. Claudinei dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raí Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César Toscano's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgílio Magalhães during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Virgílio Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After 81 played minutes, Valdelandia EC's Gugu Faustino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raí Borges came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Valdelandia EC reached it. After 83rd play minutes César Toscano shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Raí Borges and just under the crossbar into goal. Raí Borges came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Valdelandia EC's Claudinei dos Santos. But to his dismay, Claudinei dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
