In the 18th minute Jailson Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jânio de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Gilmar Pitta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Umbauba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Centenario Futebol Clube the free kick. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Emerson Barbosa made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Umbauba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson Travassos to maneuver through the defense. Emerson Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio de Queirós having to interfere. Centenario Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Carneiro couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Centenario Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson Travassos came free, but Jânio de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perivaldo de Azevedo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
