The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Paskal got free with Róbson Gaspar in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Adolfo Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Dominguinho's Eliézer Messias got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Breno Dracena dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Róbson Gaspar, 1-0. Cipriano Paskal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Róbson Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Dracena in the 39th minute of play. Paulo Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Róbson Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Breno Dracena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Dominguinho's zone, Paulo Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Róbson Gaspar came out of the goal and Paulo Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes into the game, Ponte Preta CS's Breno Dracena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Róbson Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Pedro Paulo Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dominguinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Paulo Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedé Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Paulo Valadares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Dracena in the 68th minute of play forced Dominguinho's goalkeeper Róbson Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cipriano Paskal struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Róbson Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponte Preta CS. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Paskal in the 74th minute of play forced Dominguinho's goalkeeper Róbson Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Albuquerque hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Ponte Preta CS were the better team. Ponte Preta CS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
