After 17 played minutes, Muniz EC's Teodoro Félix shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sérgio Rodrigues came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Muniz EC reached it. After 18 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Sena made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Passaje's Sérgio Rodrigues tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vânderson Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee showed Hortêncio Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Márcio das Neves's late challenge caught a Passaje's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Passaje's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Teodoro Félix ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alberto Pena was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 47 minutes, Valério Severo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Passaje and the Muniz EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Luiz Fabiano Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sérgio Rodrigues having to make a save. Inácio Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Muniz EC were the better team. Muniz EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
