Kaká Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurício da Rocha during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emerson da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Belmiro Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Kaká Paulista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 55th play minutes Emerson da Fonseca shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Kaká Paulista and just under the crossbar into goal. If Luiz Eduardo Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emerson da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mantenopolis SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Luiz Eduardo Negri scored to the left of an out of position Aníbal da Silveira, making the score, 3-1. Kaká Paulista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Pontes in the 95th minute of the match. If Emerson da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mantenopolis SS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
