In the 24th minute, Nelsinho de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chimarrao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! When Willian Dante fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xaraco SC's protests and gave Willian Dante a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th match minute, Xaraco SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Dante to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Xaraco SC's Daniel Campidelis got control of the ball when Ricardinho Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Marcelo Quintal sped through Chimarrao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luís Guilherme Marquez. Luís Guilherme Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. When William Goiano came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Xaraco SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Goiano couldn't finish the play. After the first half Xaraco SC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cláudio Dracena was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Chimarrao booed when Xaraco SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Cláudio Dracena notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Xaraco SC's Daniel Campidelis. Daniel Campidelis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Chimarrao's zone, Benjamin Tróia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Guilherme Marquez came out of the goal and Benjamin Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardinho Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Campidelis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes in the game, Marcelo Quintal fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luís Guilherme Marquez having to interfere. Benjamin Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Luís Guilherme Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin Tróia in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Guilherme Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st minute, Marcelo Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Guilherme Marquez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Xaraco SC's Benjamin Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 played minutes Chimarrao got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar Magalhães. Marcelo Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd play minute Benjamin Tróia came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luís Guilherme Marquez. 1-4.
