Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdir de Senna to make the kick off. If Kaká Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Mariola's Valdir de Senna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Igor Botelho. That made the score 1-2 after 55 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelinho Paes during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Marcelinho Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Hull City A.F.C's Valdemar Machado got a free kick in the 61st minute. Mariola's Noel Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Trigo in the 68th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Mariola's Valdir de Senna dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. With a little luck, Hull City A.F.C's Igor Botelho got control of the ball when Filipe Nunes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geovani Travassos hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mariola eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
