Arthur Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy da Rocha in the 41st minute of play forced Naxotinha's goalkeeper Nicolas Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ruy da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Germano Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 49th minute of the match, but Nicolas Quintal made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Ferreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcinho Perez charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Nicolas Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruy da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Didi Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Quintal having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Didi Motta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolas Quintal was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
