Osvaldo Braga might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Augusto Nóbrega. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldo Braga ran back to his position shaking his head. When Nildo Santana came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Avantaj FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nildo Santana couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute of the match Carlos Augusto Fontes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ediberto Bertassi skillfully saved the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Ahu Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Ediberto Bertassi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nildo Santana. In the 17th minute, Luiz Fábio Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ediberto Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Nildo Santana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ediberto Bertassi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Zé Augusto Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nildo Santana to make the kick off. Nildo Santana struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Ediberto Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avantaj FC. 54 minutes into the match, Ahu Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Santana came free, but Ediberto Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Hélio Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ahu Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avantaj FC the free kick. After 55 played minutes Ahu Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Pontes. Ahu Futebol Clube's Ediberto Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo Santana in the 57th minute of play. If Hélio Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Nildo Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 81st minute of the match Fiori Bezerra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ediberto Bertassi skillfully saved the ball. In the 86th minute, Nildo Santana fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Nildo Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ediberto Bertassi was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. If Nildo Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto Fontes in the 93rd minute of play forced Ahu Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Ediberto Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Avantaj FC got a corner. Ahu Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nildo Santana ran over to the corner to take the kick. Avantaj FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
