Guilherme da Cunha had several of the Cerejinha FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Hílton Guedes as he didn't even see the shot coming. 42 minutes into the match, Taquari EC's Guilherme da Cunha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hílton Guedes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 46 played minutes Cerejinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Massa. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dé Faria was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Taquari EC's João Carlos Figueiredo got control of the ball when Ademir Batista tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 52nd match minute, Taquari EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maicon Batista to maneuver through the defense. After 53 played minutes, Cerejinha FC's Ademir Batista shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Carlos Figueiredo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cerejinha FC reached it. Ademir Batista who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of João Carlos Figueiredo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Cristian Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerejinha FC's protests and gave Cristian Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Cristian Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 2-2 became the score in the 60th minute when Ademir Batista elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ademir Batista scored 2-3 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Carlos Figueiredo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hílton Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olívio Xavier took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hílton Guedes. Hílton Guedes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Dé Faria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Carlos Figueiredo having to make a save. In the 91st match minute, Cerejinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Taquari EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
