José Paulo Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Andrade in the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Emílio Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Paulo Furtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olívio Maranhense's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Efigenia's José Paulo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Maranhense in the 11th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magno Fontes during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute, one of Efigenia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Efigenia. In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Minas FC. Roberto Aguiar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Paulo Furtado. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Minas FC's Ediberto Bertassi got a free kick in the 17th minute. Noel Lira struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. David de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Efigenia. Beto Gerber blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David de Mendonça having to make a save. David de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Lira in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute, Emílio Andrade made a precise shot to the right of José Paulo Furtado. Efigenia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Emílio Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo Furtado having to interfere. José Paulo Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When Minas FC's Olívio Maranhense in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. David de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Efigenia's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Andrade came free, but José Paulo Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beto Gerber's late challenge caught a Minas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beto Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Beto Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Efigenia's goalkeeper José Paulo Furtado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olívio Maranhense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olívio Maranhense got free with José Paulo Furtado in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olívio Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. José Paulo Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Minas FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano Sanches during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Minas FC's zone, Noel Lira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David de Mendonça came out of the goal and Noel Lira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Frank Hermes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute, Minas FC's Emílio Andrade ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind José Paulo Furtado. José Paulo Furtado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. A collision led to Minas FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Ismael Zonta hit a great ball. Efigenia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Emílio Andrade scored to the left of an out of position José Paulo Furtado, making the score, 1-4. The Minas FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
