If Caco Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcelinho Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Ribeiro having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hílton Leão in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guga Aparecido saved Ari FC from getting behind. Guga Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ari FC's Guga Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Leão in the 17th minute of play. When Caco Britto came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Reduto SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caco Britto couldn't finish the play. Marcelinho Messias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo José Ribeiro having to make a save. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulo José Ribeiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The corner led Reduto SC's Wilton Valadares to fire away a dangerous shot which Guga Aparecido despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo José Ribeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee ignored Ari FC's protests and gave Eduardo Vargas a yellow card for diving instead.
