With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Marcelinho Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ari FC's Marcelinho Messias in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Giants FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Giants FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Mangueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Giants FC defense, Marcelinho Messias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Mangueira. The Giants FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Mangueira should have stopped the shot. Giants FC's Marcelo Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Messias in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguinho Guerra in the 33rd minute of play forced Giants FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Marcelinho Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Rodriguinho Guerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Giants FC's Marcelo Mangueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcelinho Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ari FC's Rodriguinho Guerra in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vitório de Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Luís Fabiano Dias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ari FC and the Giants FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ari FC's Erivaldo Coelho got a free kick in the 65th minute. Marcelinho Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Mangueira having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Rodriguinho Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rodriguinho Guerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Mangueira was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Marcelinho Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
