With a little luck, FonteGandense's Tomé Leal got control of the ball when Wellington Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. POTOCUDOS's João Pedro Andrade quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Walmir Borges, made in the 5th minute of the game. 7 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FonteGandense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave POTOCUDOS the free kick. The supporters of POTOCUDOS booed when FonteGandense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wellington Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Guilherme Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute, Wellington Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Augusto de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Wellington Valle came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the POTOCUDOS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Valle couldn't finish the play. Ronaldo Fontes struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Luís Guilherme Gonçalves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FonteGandense. Ronaldo Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Gonçalves having to interfere. Wellington Valle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tomé Leal came out and tried to block the shot, but Wellington Valle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 27th minute. Luís Guilherme Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Fontes in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wellington Valle was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Wellington Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Leal was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto de Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Tomé Leal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luís Guilherme Gonçalves came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by FonteGandense's Ronaldo Fontes. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. POTOCUDOS made a substitution. Hamílton Vasconcelos replaced João Pedro Andrade. Luiz Paulo Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wellington Valle in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomé Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gabriel Reis's late challenge caught a POTOCUDOS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Reis helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of POTOCUDOS booed when FonteGandense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wellington Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Tomé Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Américo Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When POTOCUDOS's Wellington Valle in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FonteGandense's goalie prevented a goal. Zé Augusto de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Américo Tepedino struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Tomé Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for POTOCUDOS. Zé Augusto de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Leal having to interfere. POTOCUDOS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
