Tomás Palmeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcinho Velasco went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 15 minutes into the match, EC FAMÍLIA SILVA's goalkeeper Willian Pires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Alagoano. Willian Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Luz in the 17th minute of play. Adolfo Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Willian Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Velasco in the 22nd minute of play forced Cafuipe's goalkeeper Tomás Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Alagoano got free with Willian Pires in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Willian Pires made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Adolfo Alagoano sent off a good shot on target. If César Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Sidnei Luz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Barreto in the 38th minute of play forced EC FAMÍLIA SILVA's goalkeeper Willian Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidnei Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, EC FAMÍLIA SILVA's Basílio Ribeiro got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Denílson do Valle to strike the kick off in the second half. Willian Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Marcinho Velasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cafuipe's zone, Marcinho Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Palmeira came out of the goal and Marcinho Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The EC FAMÍLIA SILVA fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when EC FAMÍLIA SILVA's Marcinho Velasco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cafuipe's Tomás Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson do Valle in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Basílio Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EC FAMÍLIA SILVA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Cafuipe's goalkeeper Tomás Palmeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio Ribeiro. In the 74th match minute, Cafuipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Luz to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cafuipe's zone, Basílio Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Palmeira came out of the goal and Basílio Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute Marcinho Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Basílio Ribeiro notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Cafuipe's Tomás Palmeira. Tomás Palmeira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcinho Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cafuipe's goalkeeper Tomás Palmeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adolfo Alagoano hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The supporters of EC FAMÍLIA SILVA booed when Cafuipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cafuipe's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Denílson do Valle was slow to take the kick. During this time EC FAMÍLIA SILVA's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Giovani Teles to score against Tomás Palmeira in Cafuipe's goal. 0-4 after 97 minutes. The EC FAMÍLIA SILVA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing EC FAMÍLIA SILVA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
