Ezequiel Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. A collision led to Atlético Carioca getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Clóvis Lira hit a great ball. Júlio Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Sá didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abelardo Melo went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Lopes in the 26th minute of play forced Atlético Carioca's goalkeeper Afonso Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezequiel Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeferson Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Jeferson Brodel notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Collina EC's Ezequiel Brasil. Ezequiel Brasil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeferson Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Brasil having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Jeferson Brodel made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Collina EC's Ezequiel Brasil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Carioca's zone, Ronaldão Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Sá came out of the goal and Ronaldão Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldão Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eliseu de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Brasil having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Collina EC's Júlio Barbosa got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 56th match minute, Collina EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Melo to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute of the match, Jeferson Brodel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ezequiel Brasil was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Enéas Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Collina EC's Ezequiel Brasil got control of the ball when Jeferson Brodel tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Collina EC's goalkeeper Ezequiel Brasil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeferson Brodel. Atlético Carioca's Rodolfo Munhoz got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Lopes in the 80th minute of play. Rodolfo Munhoz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Ezequiel Brasil made a huge save. After 88 played minutes Atlético Carioca got a freekick which was hit by César Dias. Ronaldão Quadros scored 2-3 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Atlético Carioca's Afonso Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldão Quadros in the 92nd minute of play. Afonso Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After a rather tough play, Collina EC's Júlio Barbosa got a free kick in the 96th minute. When the match was over Atlético Carioca could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Collina EC throughout the match.
