After 7 played minutes Guriri got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Valle. In the 9th minute, Adrianinho Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute of the match Leonardo Quadros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clemente Tavares skillfully saved the ball. Elano do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Tavares having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elano Leite in the 12th minute of play forced Guriri's goalkeeper Clemente Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Elano Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clemente Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elano Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jairo Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Elano Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mataripe SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elano Leite struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Clemente Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mataripe SS. Nilton Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the match, Mataripe SS's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Magalhães came free, but Erik de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarbas Quirino's late challenge caught a Guriri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jarbas Quirino helped the player get up and apologised. Jarbas Quirino kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Elano do Vale did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Clemente Tavares 42 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nilton Carioca to strike the kick off in the second half. Clemente Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Leite in the 54th minute of the match. Erik de Sousa was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Nilton Carioca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nilton Carioca really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Márcio Valle's late challenge caught a Mataripe SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Valle helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Guriri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Valle to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Elano Leite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clemente Tavares was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 62ndth minute of the game Elano do Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guriri's Clemente Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute Nilton Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Elano do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Mataripe SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elano do Vale couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute Elano do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the match Mataripe SS got a corner. Guriri's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonardo Quadros ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Leonardo Quadros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Clemente Tavares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Elano Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Tavares having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, Elano Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Clemente Tavares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 96 minutes into the match, Guriri's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Leite came free, but Clemente Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Guriri players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mataripe SS.
