César Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Reynaldo Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24thth minute of the game César Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catalao EC's Reynaldo Simões was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. César Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Simões having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Sirinhaem EC's Vinícius Abreu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Simões made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Vinícius Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. César Medeiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Simões made a huge save. Vinícius Abreu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reynaldo Simões having to make a save. If Valdir Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Messias's late challenge caught a Sirinhaem EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tarcisio Messias helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, one of Catalao EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Catalao EC. When the match had been going on for 84 minutes, Sirinhaem EC's Tarcisio de Mendonça got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Reynaldo Simões. The supporters of Catalao EC booed when Sirinhaem EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cícero Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinícius Abreu in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reynaldo Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dráusio Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the game, Marco Quirino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sirinhaem EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catalao EC the free kick. In the 96th minute, Marco Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 97 played minutes, Catalao EC's Tarcisio Messias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Michel Sampaio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catalao EC reached it. After having played for 100 minutes, Gustavo Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catalao EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Massa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sirinhaem EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
