The Vale do Aço Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Correntezas getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. But to his dismay, Marian Bator quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Arthur Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. With 20 minutes on the clock, Daniel Lopez commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 0-3 became the score in the 26th minute when Marian Bator elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marian Bator in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manfredo Baptista saved Correntezas from getting behind. After 30 played minutes Correntezas got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Linhares. Marian Bator struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. When Marian Bator, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 38 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Manfredo Baptista was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Marian Bator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manfredo Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Bator in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marian Bator made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Marian Bator's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manfredo Baptista was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Manfredo Baptista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marian Bator's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. The referee ignored Correntezas's protests and gave Thiago Vander a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Correntezas's Thiago Vander got a free kick in the 91st minute. Marian Bator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vale do Aço Esporte Clube's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
