Paulo José Penha really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Wladyslaw Tomaka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Bator in the 12th minute of the match. Paulo José Penha was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 16th minute. Vale do Aço Esporte Clube's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Wladyslaw Tomaka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Queiroz in the 20th minute of the match. Wladyslaw Tomaka made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Paulo José Penha sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulo José Penha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wladyslaw Tomaka. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Alexandre Furlan notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Vale do Aço Esporte Clube's Dênis Cardozo. Dênis Cardozo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 31st minute, Marian Bator ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wladyslaw Tomaka was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Panfilo in the 37th minute of play forced Catadupas SS's goalkeeper Wladyslaw Tomaka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marian Bator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Catadupas SS's Wladyslaw Tomaka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Bator in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marian Bator to make the kick off. The supporters of Catadupas SS booed when Vale do Aço Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo José Penha in the 67th minute of play forced Catadupas SS's goalkeeper Wladyslaw Tomaka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Vale do Aço Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Marian Bator. A collision led to Catadupas SS getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Betão Vaz hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the game, Paulo José Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Wladyslaw Tomaka was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, Paulo José Penha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wladyslaw Tomaka was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Paulo José Penha took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wladyslaw Tomaka. Wladyslaw Tomaka dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. When Alexandre Furlan fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catadupas SS's protests and gave Alexandre Furlan a yellow card for diving instead. Alexandre Furlan hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo José Penha in the 96th minute of play forced Catadupas SS's goalkeeper Wladyslaw Tomaka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vale do Aço Esporte Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
