The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Durval Britto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oswaldo Montenegro went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 9 played minutes Botucatu FC got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho de Lara. Beto Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Britto having to interfere. In the 11th minute Amauri do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Nogueira got free with Danny Zuidam in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Botucatu FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Aílton Lira hit a great ball. The nice shot from Júlio Nogueira in the 22ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Danny Zuidam had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Durval Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beto Moraes in the 25th minute of the match. Rubinho de Lara hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the game, Beto Moraes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Durval Britto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Danny Zuidam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walmyr Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Zuidam having to interfere. Oswaldo Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Britto having to interfere. Botucatu FC's Durval Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Notis Fragakos in the 46th minute of play.

In the 50th match minute, Ayres 07 F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Amauri do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Durval Britto made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Amauri do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Gabriel de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Danny Zuidam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Botucatu FC's Walmyr Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Botucatu FC's Júlio Nogueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Danny Zuidam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 84th minute Oswaldo Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Botucatu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri do Nascimento came free, but Durval Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Botucatu FC's Amílton Aguiar got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Oswaldo Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Oswaldo Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
