The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafinha Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafinha Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rafinha Souza hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. bahia's Willian Gerber got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When bahia's Rui Melo in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brancos FC's goalie prevented a goal. Rui Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ricardo Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brancos FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rui Melo 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Rafinha Souza made the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Isaltino Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 64 played minutes, bahia's Roberto Pirani shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Pontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in bahia reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as Brancos FC's Rafinha Souza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Renato Azevedo. That made the score 1-2 after 72 minutes of play. Ricardo Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hílton Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Azevedo having to interfere. Brancos FC's Ricardo Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Melo in the 80th minute of play. Isaltino Linhares hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Natanael Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Pontes having to make a save. After 85 played minutes, bahia's Nestor de Senna shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Pontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
