After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Aírton Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of São Jorge F 1992 booed when Jaiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. São Jorge F 1992's Cristiano Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When João Adolfo Mumbach fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São Jorge F 1992's protests and gave João Adolfo Mumbach a yellow card for diving instead. If Joélson de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaiu's Marcus Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Breckenfeld in the 32nd minute of play. Marcus Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joélson de Barros in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcus Pirani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joélson de Barros in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus Pirani saved Jaiu from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson de Barros in the 37th minute of play forced Jaiu's goalkeeper Marcus Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Joélson de Barros made a precise shot to the right of Marcus Pirani. Jaiu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cássio Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nildo Guedes struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Natanael Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaiu. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joélson de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. Jaiu's Marcus Pirani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Jaiu from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute Joélson de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aírton Teixeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Marcus Pirani made a huge save. In the 62nd minute, Gernando Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Joélson de Barros took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Marcus Pirani to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raúl Breckenfeld during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Joélson de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaiu's Marcus Pirani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Jaiu from getting a goal against them. Joélson de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Marcus Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Pirani made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Aírton Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded São Jorge F 1992 left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Jaiu.
