In a very dangerous position, a player in Januaria fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Limondeua SC. Vladimir Arruda stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfredinho Salles. 0-1. Luís Gustavo Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Gugu Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Olívio Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Limondeua SC's goalkeeper Belchior Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Gustavo Pinho. Gugu Monteiro scored 0-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredinho Salles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st minute Jorginho Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gugu Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredinho Salles was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Alfredinho Salles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In the 61st minute, Limondeua SC's Gugu Monteiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Vladimir Arruda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfredinho Salles. Januaria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With his leg Alfredinho Salles managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Limondeua SC's Jorginho Arruda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erik Peixoto during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Januaria:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Limondeua SC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 79 minutes, Limondeua SC's Vladimir Arruda got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alfredinho Salles. In the 83rd minute of the match, Jorginho Arruda got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alfredinho Salles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Olívio Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Belchior Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredinho Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Monteiro in the 96th minute of the match. When Vágner Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Januaria's protests and gave Vágner Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Limondeua SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
