Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arí Alvarenga took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute, Délio Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 5th match minute, MAIOR DE MINAS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Linares to maneuver through the defense. Délio Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Lúcio Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Domingues came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Diplomatas F.C.'s David Dante. But to his dismay, David Dante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Délio Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Lúcio Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diplomatas F.C.. In the 14th match minute, MAIOR DE MINAS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Messias to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Flávio Leite made a precise shot to the right of Enrique Miranda. Diplomatas F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. MAIOR DE MINAS FC's Lúcio Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio Peixoto in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, David Dante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Lúcio Domingues was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lúcio Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Délio Peixoto in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, MAIOR DE MINAS FC's Ivo Linares got a free kick in the 26th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Diplomatas F.C.'s Délio Peixoto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lúcio Domingues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in MAIOR DE MINAS FC's zone, Didi Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Domingues came out of the goal and Didi Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Délio Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Pelle Snell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the MAIOR DE MINAS FC defense, Délio Peixoto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lúcio Domingues. The MAIOR DE MINAS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lúcio Domingues should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Dante made a kick off. Lúcio Domingues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Délio Peixoto in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, MAIOR DE MINAS FC's Manuel Cavalcante got a free kick in the 57th minute. Délio Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Domingues having to interfere. With 76 minutes on the clock, Didi Reis commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Fausto Messias took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enrique Miranda. Diplomatas F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Alvarenga in the 79th minute of play forced Diplomatas F.C.'s goalkeeper Enrique Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Cavalcante in the 81st minute of play. Délio Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pelle Snell struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Lúcio Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diplomatas F.C.. After 88 played minutes Diplomatas F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Berger. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Diplomatas F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
