Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Arí Alvarenga got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Mangueirinha SS's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Alvarenga came free, but Enrique Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zézinho Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Enrique Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Luiz Souto hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mangueirinha SS's zone, Manuel Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Torres came out of the goal and Manuel Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Manuel Cavalcante ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Torres was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. André Luiz Souto struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Lúcio Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mangueirinha SS. After 39 played minutes MAIOR DE MINAS FC got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Leite. 44 minutes into the game, Bebeto Capixaba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mangueirinha SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MAIOR DE MINAS FC the free kick. The supporters of MAIOR DE MINAS FC booed when Mangueirinha SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebeto Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half MAIOR DE MINAS FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Luiz Souto to make the kick off. Zézinho Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute, Wiliam Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 minutes, André Luiz Souto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mangueirinha SS and the MAIOR DE MINAS FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Mangueirinha SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Souto to maneuver through the defense. Agostinho Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Lúcio Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Manuel Cavalcante got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Manuel Cavalcante in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Enrique Torres, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
